Welcome to the Southern Zone!

Costa Rica itself is one of the most biodiverse countries on the face of the Earth, and the Southern Zone takes the lead as the most diverse area within the entire country. Countless species make their home within this region. Toucans perch on trees outside your window and white-face monkeys bounce playfully along palm tree-lined beaches. The Southern Zone is your chance to experience the lush, tropical beauty that is Costa Rica. The Southern Zone is all about diversity, from the rugged landscape to the amazing wildlife. Hiking through the dense jungle or swimming in natural waterfalls, watching whales with their young, or lounging out by the pool, you can find it all in Southern Costa Rica. Consider travel in the rainy season – it doesn’t actually rain every day, or all day. For some, rainy season is truly their favorite time of the year. It has a charm all its own. Amazing thunderstorms and riveting lightning displays, the lushness of the rainforest, abundance of wildlife when it is cooler, and fewer tourists make it a fantastic time to visit.

Imagine visiting the Niagara Falls, the Grand Canyon, the Amazon River, and Hawaii in just one week! This is possible only in Costa Rica!! The dramatic landscape is filled with great diversity because it is between two continents, and two oceans, this convergence of land and water makes the region a great bottleneck, rich in ecological diversity. Here in the Southern Zone you will be immersed into an unspoiled paradise.

Playa Pinuela, Ballena National Park

You'll have many choices at Oasis Del Sol to relax, re-charge and take it all in.

The Costa Ballena is a 35 km (22 mile) stretch of coastline in Costa Rica’s south Pacific. It is made up of three towns: Dominical to the north, Ojochal to the south, and Uvita in between. Each town has a different feel, making the area fun to explore with a rental car. What these towns do have in common is a magnificent coastline and plenty of all-but-abandoned beaches. Another shared trait are the verdant green mountains that rise quickly from the smoothly paved highway. Hidden in these hills is Casa "OASIS DEL SOL" with "4 Private Oceanview Bedrooms", a "Large lnfiniiy Pool and "Spectacular Sunset Views".

We are Kim and Lee from Ontario, Canada. We’ve been married for over 30 years and have two grown children. Our favourite thing to do is travel and meet people. As a young family we stayed in hotels while visiting places like Disney World. When houses became available to rent for vacations we never looked back! We’ve stayed in many rental properties around the world. When the opportunity to buy a home in our favourite place came up we jumped in with both feet. The “traveller” in us loves visiting destinations that the “tourist” can’t imagine.
